September
Trades Board

Built Mon 31 Aug 2026
Labor Day · Mon 7 Sep

September is a booking month, not a speaking month. Program committees set their fall calendars in June, so no association is handing out a stage in the next four weeks. What September produces is rooms entered, one-to-ones booked, and Q4 dates closed. Rank below is by owner density and whether the trade is reachable this month, not by market size.

Electricians

ECLV · eclvpa.com · monthly meetings
Go now

The only trade body here that meets monthly rather than quarterly or annually, so there is always a program hole. Demand is non-seasonal and commercial shops are pushing to close projects before year-end budgets die, which puts capacity and admin drag on their minds right now. The room is small, roughly a dozen active owners, and that is the feature: everyone in it signs checks. The real multiplier is the supporting members, since each distributor rep talks to dozens of owners a week.

Plumbers

PHCC Lehigh Valley · phcclv.org · Kwame has already attended
Go now

Formerly the Allentown Master Plumbers Association, founded 1897, rebranded 2021. September is their most active month of the year because apprenticeship classes start and enrollment runs into the second week, so the board is meeting and sponsoring owners are engaged. Pitch the association leadership and the owners who sponsor apprentices, never the apprentices. Plumbing demand is flat year-round, which makes them the most available trade this month.

HVAC

No standalone LV association · lives inside PHCC and the distributors
Go now

There is no separate HVAC body in the Lehigh Valley, which is why plumbing and HVAC collapse into one outreach motion here. Timing is the sneaky-good part: AC season is winding down and heating season does not hit until mid-October, so this is one of the only stretches all year an HVAC owner will sit for an hour. It is also when they staff up for winter and run fall tune-up campaigns, which is exactly when scheduling pain is loudest. The better door than any association is a distributor counter day, since a distributor will let a non-competing vendor present on two weeks of notice and no association will.

Remodelers & general contractors

LVBA · ABC Eastern PA · LV Contractors Association
Work it

LVBA runs roughly 150 members across builders, remodelers, subs and suppliers in Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, Emmaus, Whitehall and Nazareth, and their 35th Annual Awards registration is open, so that banquet is a room worth buying a seat at. ABC’s Lehigh Valley Council quarterly is not on their public calendar, which makes it a phone call. Fall backlog season means busy but reachable. Longer cycle than the service trades because remodelers carry less phone-based revenue leak.

Landscaping

PLNA · nothing local in September
Wrong month, right story

PLNA’s September calendar has nothing in the Lehigh Valley. Native plant tours in Hockessin Delaware, a Penn State Extension webinar on the 9th, GreenTech North America in Philadelphia on the 23rd and 24th. A Lehigh Valley landscape owner in September is mid-peak and heading into leaf season through November. He is cash-rich and time-poor and will not sit in a lunch-and-learn. Landscapers buy systems in December through February, when the trucks are parked. Kwame’s first client is a landscaper, so this trade is his credibility, not his target.

6

Roofers

No LV association · found through LVBA, BNI and the distributors
Skip until January

September through November is their absolute peak, storm season plus everyone racing to get a roof on before winter. A roofing owner will not take a meeting now and should not. Put them on a list and hit the second week of January, when the phone stops and they are staring at a slow quarter. That is when roofers buy.

7

Painters

No local association · PCA is national with no LV council
Not worth September

Found through Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore commercial reps and through LVBA. Interior season starts in October. Shops here tend to be small and thinly capitalized, so this trade fails the average-ticket test that makes the other six work.

The talk track

Operations, not marketing

Lead with what their members complain about

Not “can I speak.” The opener is: I own TaskRipple. I work with plumbing and landscaping companies on the gap between what the tech does in the field and what the office actually bills for. Your members are losing days of revenue in that gap. I’d like to teach a 20-minute session on it for your members, free, and I’ll bring the framework as a handout. What does your fall calendar look like?

Then the ask that actually matters, and it works whether or not they give a date: Who are the three members you’d most want me to talk to before that session, so the content is right? That converts one call into three warm one-to-ones in September regardless of when the stage lands.

Frame it as capacity, not leads

He can’t handle the business he got. He don’t need no more business right now. He needs to be more streamlined in just handling the paperwork and stuff, so that he can do the business that he has comfortably. Dr. Jeff, PRISM Weekly Team Meeting, 31 Aug 2026
  • Two kinds of trades client. Marketing-focused and operations-focused. In the Lehigh Valley most are the second.
  • The website is credibility, not lead-gen. Functional means someone can book or pay without the owner touching it, and the email is captured automatically.
  • Do not sell field or predictive AI. Those claims failed verification. Sell the mechanism and prove the dollars in their own numbers.

Do not

Each one has already cost somebody a week
NODo not chase the labor councils. Most Lehigh Valley “trades” search results are union bodies like the Lehigh Valley Building Trades Council. They represent workers and apprenticeships. They are not the buyer.
NODo not pitch the Michael Mazer close as a case study. He paid 28 Aug and session 1 is Fri 4 Sep. Zero sessions delivered, no results exist, and there is no consent row. He is proof Kwame works in trades, nothing further.
NODo not repeat “six to 40 trucks.” That was Jeff riffing in the meeting, not a real figure. The buyer is the owner drowning in paper, and one truck is enough to be drowning.
NODo not treat a stage as the September goal. Every association ask this month is for an October, November or Q1 date. September’s output is rooms and one-to-ones.
